More Puppies Have Been Born!!

Well, Emme has had another fine litter of puppies! Eleven, to be exact; five are chocolate and six are black. Born on December 12th, they will be ready for adoption on February 7th. She's getting to be an old pro at this, and so are we!

Emme Has a Second Litter

Well, It seems that when it rains, it pours! On March 27, just a week after Peggy Sue had her first litter, Emme gave birth to her second. This time, she had eleven beautiful pups, three chocolate and eight black. All are healthy and energetic, and this brings our puppy count up to 16! A lot to deal with at one time, but no worries, I built a second whelping box. Plastic coated this time to make cleaning easier.

Here are a few baby pix!

Skipper Joins the Fold

We've added another female 'doodle to our stable. Her name is Skipper, and she is a parti-colored sweetheart. She loves everyone, including the little puppies. She's a month older than Emme and Peggy Sue's pups, so she fits right in at meal time and at play time.

Peggie Sue Has Her First Litter

On March 20th, Peggy Sue gave birth to five beautiful puppies! All are chocolate except one black female with blonde legs and highlights. Although she is having her first litter, she is an excellent mother, very protective and attentive to their needs.

The Two We Kept

Well, we just couldn't resist; we kept a couple of pups out of the litter; Peggy Sue, a black female, and Bailey, a chocolate male. We wanted Peggy Sue for breeding future litters since she is such a sweet dog that loves to cuddle. Bailey is more rambunctious but lovable in his own way.

We've gone from one dog to three, with all the extra work that entails. And all the extra love we get in return...

The Final Four Go Home

Seems hard to believe, but we are down to the last four to go to new homes. For those of you doing the math, that makes 10 out of twelve. And it means that, yes, we are going to keep two of them! I know, I know, we can't do that every litter, but we'll make an exception here.

Four More Puppies Leave the Fold

Friday, April 20th, was a big day for puppy adoption, because four families came to pick up their new puppies.

Each of the pups has an interesting story. One of them will be trained as a therapy dog in a nursing home; one of them will replace a beloved pet that passed away recently; and one of them will run wooded trails alongside her forest ranger owner. Most heart-warming of all was the story of the new owner who had wanted a puppy all his life, but was never able to have one due to severe allergies. How severe? If a dog brushed up against his skin, it would cause him to break out in a rash. This couple visited three times to see if our goldendoodles would trigger a reaction. When they realized that allergies would not be an issue, it brought them to tears. They were thrilled, and of course, we were thrilled for them.
